Anxiety and Depression
Why an Alternative Treatment?
We know that Auriculotherapy plus Neurological Stress Release along with
proper nutritional support and the appropriate mental health professional
is an effective treatment for anxiety and depression. In many cases, these
treatments eliminate or drastically reduce the dosages for psychotropic
medications for anxiety and depression, even with those patients considered
organically depressed.
Anxiety is considered an illness when you cannot control your anxious
feelings. Anxiety disorders involve excessive levels of negative emotions,
such as fear, worry, nervousness, and tension, and the anxious feelings
occur involuntarily despite your best attempts to avoid them or stave them
off. From chronic worrying, called generalized anxiety disorder by experts,
to panic attacks, most seem to have the same root cause: unrealistic, overwhelming
fears that can not only paralyze the mind but also cause serious physical
problems. More than 23 million Americans experience some form of anxiety,
making it the most common mental illness in the country.
If you have depression, you may feel hopeless and sad or stop feeling
pleasure from almost everything you do. You may feel “down in the dumps”,
tearful, or discouraged. You may also be irritable or anxious or have low
energy levels. The symptoms of depression are often subtle at first. It
can be hard to recognize that symptoms may be connected and that you might
have depression. The two most significant symptoms of depression are sadness
or hopelessness, loss of interest in or pleasure from most daily activities.
Other symptoms include:
- Sleeping too much or not enough
- Feeling restless and unable to sit still, or feeling that moving takes a great effort
- Feeling tired all the time
- Feeling unworthy or guilty without an obvious reason
- Having problems concentrating, remembering, or making decisions
- Thinking often about death or suicide
- Weight gain or loss
How It Works
Auriculotherapy
Our goal is for our patients to be healthy, successful, and productive. Getting well requires a partnership between physician and patient. Auriculotherapy for depression and anxiety jumpstarts the brain’s own “feel good” chemistry factory to produce more endorphins. With this process activated your energy returns, interest in life returns, calmness and peace wash over you and, it can happen as early as the very first visit.
Neurological Stress Release
Neurological Stress Release reduces the tension in the spinal chord itself so that your body can function properly and return itself to homeostasis.
As one recovering workaholic/chronically anxious patient so aptly put it after her dual session, “So this is how normal people feel!”
